Overseas study aims to provide opportunities for students to develop students’ intercultural awareness, experience culture in French-speaking countries, expand international perspective, and enhance cross-cultural communication and critical thinking skills. Our department actively cultivate the international exchange and cooperation with offerings including exchange programs, study tours, study abroad, practical experiences and double degrees.

For exchange programs, French Department has 17 partnerships in France (2 Grandes Ecoles, 11 host universities, 2 High School’s BTS courses and 2 French Language Centers for French Intensive class) and 5 host universities in Belgium. Through an exchange program of one semester or one year, undergraduate students can study overseas while remaining enrolled at, and supported by, the Wenzao University. Tuition fees are waived by the host University/Grande Ecole, allowing students to continue to take advantage of tuition arrangements at home, while having an immersive overseas experience. The department also provides students with access to other universities like Shanghai International Studies University and Beijing Foreign Studies University with a chance of short-term visits.

French Department is running Dual Degree Programs with 3 Grandes Ecoles in France and 1 University in England. Only students, who are currently enrolled in French Department Undergraduate level are eligible to apply for one of our 14 Dual Degree Master Programs. Students benefit from international experience that will enrich their future career prospects, while expanding their horizons and will award two degrees, the Bachelor’s Degree of Wenzao, and the master’s degree of the host University/Grande Ecole.

French Department offer a wide range of opportunities for students to participate in a two to three weeks short-term study tour program with lectures and cultural activities during spring breaks in one of its 5 partners High Schools located in France. Students can also take a short academic course at a Catholic Lille University during Summer Break or attend French Languages courses in one of the two host Languages Centers.
